About the flag

Light blue flag with Air Force emblem, which shows a golden bird (stylized condor?) under the national arms and white stars, all on a red ring ribbon with yellow letters reading "Fuerza Aérea del Peru".

National aircraft markings

The Peruvian Air Force was formed in 1919 as Servicio de Aviación Militar del Ejército del Peru and changed it name few times until became Fuerza Aérea del Peru on July 1950. Book [c2e98] reports that in 1922 it adopted a roundel and vertical rudder stripes (see this photo from Airliners.NET); same markings appear at Jane’s [jfs] 1945.

Airforce Aircraft Marking

Fin flash of Peru

The Album 2000 [pay00] says that the Navy Aircraft Marking is the Civil flag on fin. (Identical to the Navy Aircraft Marking.)
Željko Heimer, 04 Nov 2002

Book [c2e98] reports that in 1922 it adopted vertical rudder stripes; book [whe86] shows fin flash instead of rudder stripes. As costumary in South America, both are right: Non-camuflagued planes use rudder stripes (see example photo from Airliners.NET) while camuglagued planes use fin flash (see example photo from Airliners.NET).

Red white red roundel, according to the Album 2000 [pay00]. (Forms the base for the Navy Aircraft roundel.)

The Airforce Roundels of Peru and Turkey resemble each other very much.
